To add a beneficiary to your account, please contact support and ensure to have the following information ready:
- Legal name of the beneficiary
- Allocation of assets (%)
- Relationship to the beneficiary
- Address
Beneficiaries cannot be appointed for Personal/Cash (non-registered) accounts.
For RESP accounts, beneficiaries are appointed during the account opening - and you can always add additional ones afterward directly in the app as needed.
What happens after I request to add a beneficiary?
The OneVest support team will review and add your beneficiary information to your profile - which will then prompt you to review & sign one or more digital documents. Once you have completed them, the support team will process them with the custodian.
While rare, our custodian institution may ask for additional information, in which case our support team will let you know.
